Under the new Non Ajudication Law in Mississippi a mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device (IID) can be used to have your license remain in effect and the DUI permanently expunged from your record.
Installing this device is basically the only way to retain your driver’s license after a DUI arrest. These devices require a driver to pass a breath test before they can start the ignition. If the device is tampered with or a failed test is collected it can result in additional penalties. The DUI offender will be required to lease the device from a state approved vendor. Brad Cornelison and his staff can help you use this new law to maintain your license and guide you through the new processes if they are available to you.
